HIGHER EXPRESSIONS
Higher Expressions (known as “HE”) is a celebration of the power, freedom and enlightenment that is inherent in every creative embodiment of our universal origin. In short Higher Expressions highlights the shared life spirit that connects us to each other.
Hosted by G. Eric Miles, Higher Expressions utilizes poetry and the spoken word, music and topic driven conversation to reveal the shared spirit that inspires, strengthens and connects each and every member of our human family.
Twice a month HE will question the parameters of our beliefs, challenge our sensitivities for change and entertain our creative nature. HE is a sanctuary of positive exchange of ideas, experiences and desires to address the evolving experiences and circumstances we find ourselves involved in today.
Higher Expressions invites all inquisitive minds, thirsty souls and calling bodies to come out and commune with a common spirit of harmony in diversity at Ganesha Center.
All poets, singers, musicians, spoken word artist and conversationalists (including comedians) interested in performing in one of HE’s events is encouraged to contact G.Eric at www.ganeshacenter.com or at http://www.gericmiles.com/higherexpressions .
Born and raised in Washington, DC, G. Eric moved west to L.A. to further pursue an acting career that began on the stages of theatre companies around our Nation’s Capitol and its surrounding metropolitan area. G has appeared as a guest star or as a recurring character on shows like ‘The Young and the Restless’, ‘Murder, She Wrote’, ’The Profiler’, ‘Sliders’, and ‘Dharma and Greg’. G began writing poetry over thirty years ago and currently has five collections of poetry copyrighted with the Library of Congress; ‘The first: a collection of poems and verse’, ’The Second: the continuation of an idea’, ‘The Third: enough is enough’, ‘Life is a strange place to live…sometimes’, and ‘Am I Free’. G has always believed that artistic expression is our way of manifesting our connection to the Higher Power in our own spirit of creation.
In his own words G has written, “My mission is to promote the personal growth of every individual, including myself by challenging the parameters by which we measure success in our society. To enhance the quality of every experience by dispelling the imitations we place on our mind, body and spirits. And to encourage each one to live fearlessly through the realization that we chose our own reality and control our own destiny regardless of the circumstances.”
FREE GANESHA BOOK CLUB
If you have had the opportunity to walk through the Library at Ganesha Center, you may have thought to yourself, “Where do I begin?” For those of us who love to read books, talk about books, and share in metaphysical conversation, Ganesha Center will now be offering a monthly book club in the Café, facilitated by Sommer Asay, long-time Ganesha Center devotee and volunteer. On the fourth Sunday of each month, 11 am – 1 pm, we will gather around cozy couches to discuss a book of interest to the Spiritual community. If you should get a hankering while we talk, the café is only 5 steps; you won’t miss a quote! Each book decided upon will be available for purchase in the Ganesha Center retail area. Although the first half of the year’s books will be pre-established, we are open to suggestions for future reading!
